The Olympic Games of Vancouver 2010 have officailly begun.

The celebrations for the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games started around 6 pm on February 12, 2010.  In the Vancouver, Olympic stadium, built for 55,000 spectators, legendary canadian hockey star, Wayne Gretzky, carried the Olympic flame its final steps and officially opened up the Olympic games by passing the flame to the Vancouver Olympic torch.

The Czech Olympic team, now including a skicross team, were ofcourse in attendance.  Below you can see the skicross team sporting thier blue, red, and white fancy dancy snow show suits.

Now all we have to do is wait in anticipation to the Olympic Skicross debut, which will take place on February 21, 2010.  As in World Cup events, the athletes will qualify, then they will compete in heats, and the competition will be further narrowed down to the final round with the winner taking home the gold, but dont forget about the silver.

So to all our fans, hold your thumbs and wish our champions, Tomás Kraus and Zdenek Šafář, the best of luck.  L.A.
