The first event of the 2009/2010 FIS World Cup Skicross series was full of thrills and chills. Michael Schmidt of Switzerland took the overal win with incredible style and in pure dominator form just like last season.
World Champion, Tomáš Kraus, had some trouble in the semi-finals as he attempted a tricky inside move after a huge drop down. The other racer closed the door on him and Tomáš had to lay it down. He regained his composure and dominated the small final finishing in 5th position. After receiving his 45 points he gave an interview saying that he is happy that the season has started and that he is feeling really confident.
Tomorrow the world cup elite will compete again on the same track, same snow, but different day.
Below are some clips of the event and a small interview with the World Champion just after the final.
