World Cup Italy 2009 #2

     Michael Schmidt, the swiss knife, blasted the skicross elite winning two, back to back, FIS World Cup Skicross events in 24 hours.  He has come out strong, on the attack, letting everyone know that he is hungry for gold and is playing for keeps.

     Tomáš Kraus, Skicross World Champion, had to settle for 10th position after experiencing some more trouble in the second event of the 2009/2010 series.  This result places the World Champion in 6th position overall and makes for and exciting start to the current series.

     Zdenek Šafář finished the day in 33rd, but his fastest heat time was just a hair off of the winning pace.  Be sure to keep on eye on the Šafář as he sets his sights on the upcoming events.

     Now a short Chiristmas break and then its back to the smell of melting race wax and blue snow.  The next stop is Kitzbuhel, at the skicross paradise St. Johann, in Austria.  See you all there.
